In 1981, at the age of 25, Tom Kane purchased Dubuque Auction and Real Estate Services. After a few years, the auction service was conducting over 110 auctions per year. The company also brokered real estate as well as appraisals for personal property and real estate. In 1992, Tom sold the auction business to pursue real estate appraisals full-time. Kane Appraisal Services, Inc. was started.
Tom and his wife Julie began doing real estate appraisals from their home. Tom would conduct the appraisals while Julie processed them. The appraisal business grew rapidly, and new appraisers were added to the team. Today Kane Appraisal Services has grown to a family of full time appraisers and staff members ready to serve you.
