In 1981, Tom Kane purchased Dubuque Auction & Real Estate Services. The company also brokered real estate as well as appraisals for personal property and real estate.
In 1992, Tom sold the auction business to pursue real estate appraisals full-time and Kane Appraisal Services, Inc. began. Tom and his wife Julie began doing real estate appraisals from their home. The appraisal business grew rapidly, office space was necessary, and new appraisers were added to the team.
In 2024, Tom and Julie’s two sons, Jon and Joe, undertook management roles at Kane Appraisal with Tom and Julie continuing to be owners and advisors. Today, Kane Appraisal Services continues to grow and is considered a well-known appraisal firm in Dubuque, Iowa.
